UNTUANBLUR is an independent black-and-white photography practice based in Bangkok.
Nothing in these pictures was arranged. No studio, no stylist, no plan. The people brought whatever they had; the rooms were whatever we found, and most of them I never returned to. The light was whatever was there—a Doraemon lamp beside someone's bed, a flash the model held and fired down at her own face, sometimes her own phone. What I bring is attention: to the temperature of a place, to the moment a body stops performing and starts to disappear.
Blur, grain and shadow are not accidents I keep. They are how I take a kimono, a lace dress, a borrowed room, and strip them of their story until only a shape and a pressure remain. Colour describes; I am not describing. I am trying to make you feel what it was like to stand there.
The four series are one practice at different distances. Body & Light: skin, shadow, the edge where a person ends. Ritual: the private gestures we repeat to hold ourselves together. Field Notes: what I found rather than made. Afterimage: what is left when everything else has gone.
None of these pictures existed in my head before I stood in front of them. I am not interested in explaining. I am interested in the moment just before understanding—tender, slightly unsettling, and belonging to whoever is looking.
